Owners and Founders

Angela Searcy M.S., D.T. holds a B.A. degree in English and secondary education with teacher certification though the state of Illinois and a M.S. degree in early childhood development from Erikson Institute, with a credential in developmental therapy. Angela is an associate at the Neuropsychology Diagnostic Center in Orland Park, Illinois, an approved professional development provider by the Illinois State Board of Education, a “master trainer” for the Illinois State Board of Education’s Access and Equity project, the Educational consultant for Tangle Toys www.tangletoys.com , the vice president of the Illinois Developmental Therapy Association www.illinoisdta.org and a “training appraiser” with the Illinois Trainers Network. Angela is the owner and founder of Simple Solutions Educational Services, and a nationally recognized speaker with extensive experience working with professionals, young children, and their families as an early childhood teacher, child development specialist, staff developer, mental health consultant, parent educator, language arts teacher, college professor and tutor. Her expertise encompasses developing behavior modification programs from a neuropsychological perspective, and creating professional development grounded in neuroscience research related to adult learning. Angela Searcy was recently featured on Chicago Public Radio’s Chicago Matters in a feature titled “Pay to Play on April 19th 2006 on the importance of movement on cognition in young children. Read the article titled "Baby Blues" at www.chicagoparent.com Angela Searcy was featured in the Early Childhood Report published by LRP Publications in the September 2006,  July 2007 issues in article on Inclusion and will be a featured Speaker at the Learning and the Brain Conference sponsored by Harvard, Yale and Stanford Universities in Feb 2007 in San Francisco. Frederica Douglas OTR/L., D.T. holds a B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from Chicago State University, and is a credentialed occupational and developmental therapist with the state of Illinois. Frederica is currently a partner in “Getting to Know Me and My World”, a cross-disciplinary pediatric therapy practice in Chicago, Illinois. Frederica’s practice includes state evaluations, staff development, supervisor, direct pediatric treatment, and consultation. In addition, she is a “master trainer” for the Illinois State Board of Education’s Access and Equity project. Her expertise encompasses working with health care professionals and families of children with special needs. Frederica has extensive training in child development, sensory and motor function/dysfunction and direct treatment of infants and small children with various genetic disorders, feeding and sensory issues, cerebral palsy, down
